“The more you
know, the more you trust and the less you fear”
Well, to make a long, real long, story short…
For some people all this may sound a little weird, silly or starnge, but
all this is part of my life!!
My last name
is Yerna, that name is weird in
Belgium (my nationality) and in the world, personally I only known my father,
brother and sister with that name. My father never knew his father, so…
When I came
to Mexico in 1985, I started working above a restaurant called Apache 14.
In that
restaurant was hanging this frame, the picture shows a construction on the back
that has a sign that says Yerna Post
Office…
I’m looking
for someone that can help me out with this situation, the picture is from a
magazine, I think it’s a magazine about architecture, I posted pages 25 (the
picture) and 26, maybe someone knows what magazine this is, the editorial, the
printer, the year it was published, the photographer, the writer of that
article, just something to start more research…
In 1985 that
pictures was hanging here (in Mexico City) so the magazine were that page comes
from is maybe from the seventies, and the picture itself is probably from the
end of the 19th Century or beginning 20th Century…
I have been
talking with people and many say that there must be a connection with that
person (the one on the front of the picture) and my past, as well as there is
supposed to be a connection with the Native Americans (especially Cochise shows up often) and the person on the photo …
Al my drawings, when I was a kid, were about Native
Americans (check out the design on the moccasins and the ring that came to me 20 years
later)
When I was a
kid I didn’t wanted regular toys I wanted a Tipi (living in Belgium)
Then I met
this woman that sold me that ring,
with the triangles and spirals, that ring supposed to be from a Native American
that gave it, as a gift, to a “white” man, the ring is signed with “CU” and has
4 stones, Jade, Turquoise, Tiger Eye and a Purple Quartz
My shop’s was
opened later and the name is Wakantanka, The Great Spirit (which I didn’t knew in that
period)
Then a
Canadian friend gave me the Eagle Bone Whistle,
which is used in the Sundance (I found out later as well)
Then here in
Mexico I found this Tomahawk/Pipe
I have been meeting more and more people that have the same interests from around the world and would like to make this circle bigger, to talk, write and investigate
Most tattoos I have are Native America related, and so on…
So, is this Causality? Destination? Luck? Are these signs? I have been “sleeping” too long?
I really
appreciate all the help, info, tips, suggestions or comments you all have on
this particular situation!!
