Wakantanka is a professional studio dedicated exclusively to body piercing and established in 1994. We have never dedicated ourselves to the art of tattooing and it is not in our plans to do so..

Personally I have been involved in some of the translations of the brochures into spanish, and we are working on the procedure manual and the website as well. We also organized the APP seminars in Mexico City and are working on the 3th one which will take place from September 17 till 20.

At this moment I started to work with the new boardmembers, Elayne Angel, Bethra Szumski, Ed Chavarria and Didier Suarez, as well as James Weber who was reelected and Eric Anderson.

As the International Outreach Coordinator I would like to hear your doubts, concerns, comments and information in our industry in your country, so let's put our hands together, leave your Ego at home and let´s start working. So I'am ready to start recieving those mails, what is going on in your country, what has been done on legislation, is there any normativity, what or the pros and cons that concerns you? It´s time to get together and try to make some changes!!

If you went to the Conference in Las Vegas, then please let us know your opinions, what you like most, what would you change, thinking of going back next year? Are you a member? if not why not? If you didn't went, why not?

Parte de la serie TKE? Artistas de la Piel es un libro, para jóvenes que da a conocer un poco más sobre los tatuajes y las perforaciones. El libro no pretende dar una enseñanza sobre los temas de la decoración corporal, pero sí es una buena base para todos los “novatos” en la materia y una herramienta útil que ofrece información sobre los significados de la cultura del tatuaje, además como se aprende a tatuar o perforar, que  técnicas existen, cuáles son las medidas de protección e higiene a seguir, los derechos sociales y las responsabilidades que adquiere uno y ante los demás, aparte de testimonios y consejos muy acertados.

El libro cuenta con imágenes en color (por cierto, con buena impresión) de artistas como el Dr. Lakra, el Chino de Dermafilia, Ana Paula y Russo de Tonatiuh y algunos trabajos y detalles míos y de Wakantanka, al igual que algunas imágenes que  Alfredo mismo ha tomado durante los últimos años de personajes del medio.

Además, en Artistas de la Piel aparecen entrevistas con el Russo, Ana Paula y sí, también una mía;  siempre da orgullo cuando sale una entrevista, nota o publicación de uno mismo, más aun si es un libro informativo sobre uno de los temas que más nos gusta tratar: La Decoración Corporal.
Para todos aquellos con el interés en tatuarse o perforarse, este libro es una buena opción para empezar esta nueva adicción con tu cuerpo.
